CALHOUN COUNTY FAIR GOAT RULES

Department- Goats

 

*Market Goats

  • Must be registered with the County Agent or FFA Advisor by July 15 of concurrent year.

  • Animal must have a Scrapie ID ear tag and applicable blood test results.

  • If Scrapie ID tag is ran and found to be void, the animal will be removed from the fairgrounds and ineligible for show.

  • Minimum weight is 30lbs.

  • Goats must be uniformly shorn 3/8 inch or less above the knees and hocks.

  • Hooves must be trimmed.

  • It is recommended that goats be dehorned. If goats have horns, they must be tipped to be eligible for competition.

  • Goats must be greater that 1/16th percentage Boer. Proof of breeding is the exhibitor’s responsibility.

 

*Wether Dam Goats

  • Must be registered with the County Agent or FFA Advisor by July 15 of concurrent year.

  • Animal must have a Scrapie ID ear tag and applicable blood test results.

  • If Scrapie ID tag is ran and found to be void, the animal will be removed from the fairgrounds and ineligible for show.

  • Minimum weight is 30lbs.

  • Must be registered with the County Agent or FFA Advisor by July 15 of concurrent year.

  • Animal must have a Scrapie ID ear tag or well healed tattoo.

  • If Scrapie ID tag is ran and found to be void, the animal will be removed from the fairgrounds and ineligible for show.

  • Hooves must be trimmed.

  • Dairy goat does only.

  • Dairy goats will be divided into classes by age.
